PROFESSIONAL PREPARATION

Assessment.

Connecting learning objectives with evidence of student learning.

Assessment in my yoga lesson.

My Lab D yoga lesson includes peer assessment, checks for understanding, and an exit slip. These methods connect students’ movement practice with the lesson objectives.

PEER ASSESSMENT

Observe and give feedback

Students create a sequence of three to five poses and give a partner specific or corrective feedback.

CHECKS FOR UNDERSTANDING

Demonstrate and explain

Questions and demonstrations check students’ understanding of poses, breathing, involved muscles, balance, and coordination.

EXIT SLIP

Reflect on learning

Students list poses from their personalized vinyasa and explain the difference between balance and coordination.
